NATIONALS 2ND!
I was really quite tired after reaching home at 10.30pm (record!) and tuition today so I only get to post right now.
I am super proud of our team because we really put up a great fight against IJ. Although we lost, I am happy and not at all disappointed because we really played to our strengths by putting up great full-court defence. I think we have really proven a lot of things throughout our whole journey, most of all that NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE. I admit we haven't been a consistent team and have performed badly at times but I think we stand out because we can still rise to the occasion after a bad game. During zonals, we did lose to rv but we managed to win ct and go to round 2. And although we lost to nanhua again in that round, we put up an even stronger fight against mg and went to finals. And the best was really during finals when we all defeated nanhua a second time. I hated that I had to sprain my ankle then but I was really very glad and proud that the team played really well that day. Then in nationals, we had a sucky round 1 but we still managed to emerge top of the group. And we gave the game away against cedar and lost to IJ but I think we treasured our chances really well when we played sports school. I am very happy that we proved a lot of things wrong- that we weren't just lucky when we entered top 4 because we still won the semifinals, that top 4 schools weren't always south zone schools and no west zone schools, that top 4 schools don't always need to be really tall etc.
I'm really grateful for all the supporters that came down during finals and especially all the netballers because your support has really motivated us and driven us further during the game. In my 4 years of being in nanyang netball, this is really the first year we have such a significant number of supporters and the feeling for us is really great. We treasure the encouragement and support you give us and hope that in future, nanyang netball will keep having so many supporters!
And now that season is over, I think many of us (sec 4s especially) are beginning to feel the post-season depression, which is partly due to no netball and more homework. I think that we will all get over it somehow and even though there will be no more trainings, somehow we will still create trainings for ourselves. And that just shows how much we really love netball and that our journey doesn't stop here. And I don't care if I have to brainwash people.
Well, to next year's B DIV, I hope they don't feel too stressed and go for trainings next week with the right and positive mindset. I hope they feel really fortunate to have such a great coach and great teachers-in-charge and treasure every training (however tough it may be). All the best and have fun for trainings!
Oh and since there's no more competitions and LOAs we should all focus on studies once again and adjust to a good long day of school (not that I enjoy it much). No more extensions and excuses! It's sad to be FLUNG back to reality so fast but what choice do we have? JIAYOU AND WORK HARD!

NOW OR NEVER
I know it's super cliche but it's our last chance to do what we can. Let's give ourselves a better chance by giving it our best shot and making the most out of it!

I'm Yu Xuan and fifteen this year. This means I'm sadly not entitled to many things. My life is under control currently (thanks to my very practical and sensible parents). I may appear sensible to you but you must never judge a book by its cover.
